The wildlife sanctuary in Chucmichén houses iconic species from the Yucatecan peninsula, several of them in danger of extinction and species from other regions of the world, all of them in danger of extinction.

Within the 400 hectares of Chucmichén, specimens of various species live, grow and reproduce under our protection.

Virtually all species of wildlife in Yucatan are in danger of disappearing due to three human actions: poaching for sport and food, the capture of specimens to be marketed as pets and, perhaps most importantly, the destruction of forests for agriculture and livestock. This same process happens all over the world.
